• discuss ground rules for designing with sound

• look at a few cutting edge sites to get you thinking about using sound on your site

• briefly examine some of the tools available--including Flash 4 and Beatnik

• review classic elements in film sound (since the web is pretty much in a state akin to the early silent movie era)

• consider future potential of web sound design
