Do you need audio?
Unless sound is integral part of the information, many designers find it difficult to logically tie the audio into web page content.
Music is dynamic and sequential--it complements other dynamic, sequential media and the more your web site moves away from being like a magazine article, the more it cries out for sound.
In the same way that looking at paintings makes you see the world in a different way, listening to sounds arranged in interesting ways makes you hear differently.
Notes:
So let’s talk about we’ve seeing here….first of all, do you really need audio? Well, in a word, yes.
But right now, unless sound is an integral part of the information being presented, many designers seem to find it difficult to logically tie the audio into web page content.
The thing is, the more your web site moves away from the print model-- the more it becomes dynamic and interactive, the more it cries out for sound. Music is dynamic and sequential...and it complements other dynamic, sequential media.
And I would argue that in the same way that looking at paintings makes you SEE the world in a different way, listening to sounds arranged in interesting ways makes you HEAR just a little differently.
