SO let's wrap it up here..in using audio as a creative tool, sound design for the web can present a series of sonic events (music, speech elements, environmental sounds)
We can give different visual and sonic events different SPATIAL locations, and allow the user to control at least some of the elements of the presentation.....
we need to remember that sound should form a discreet,
organic part of the interface...
--consider the amount and type of information on a page
--pair sound to the stylistic content of visuals and animation
--we can consider providing certain information only via sound--remembering its visceral appeal to the emotions--
and keep in mind how marvelous a tool sound is for transporting you to a place...whether that's Antarctica (where you can hear what it really sounds like when the massive ice floes start cracking apart)-- or the streets of New York (where you could explo
